Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was a relieved man after his side clinched a 2-0 win at Reading with late goals from Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo. The first goal from Rooney came at 77th minute and second goal from Ronaldo at 90th(+3) minute.The three points kept Manchester United at top. Arsenal and Manchester United are separated only by the goal difference.
Sir Alex Ferguson said that "it was an imortant win for his side." Ferguson admitted he feared it would not be his side's day for long periods against a plucky Reading. Manchester United drew with Reading in their opening match of this season.
Arsenal beat Fulham with three goals to zero. Adebayor striked twice helped Arsenal to seal their away win.
Manchester United's next match against Portsmouth on 30th January is a crucial one. Reccently, Portsmouth defeated Derby County 3-1. Benjani bagged two goals. Manchester United drew with Portsmouth early in the start of the season.
He added: "Considering the number of opportunities we had, maybe our decision-making in the final third of the field wasn't at its best. We kept making chances, but you do start to worry when the game goes on and you haven't scored."
